Sarah began her career in 2011 as a PR executive, working with companies like Maximal Concepts, Dining Concepts, Buzz Concepts, Star Cruises, and Asia World-Expo on creative branding, event management, and digital marketing.
The idea for “Women of Hong Kong” was born in 2014, when Sarah created a network called "Girls of Hong Kong”, a tight-knit community that provided a safe space for women with networking and support through social events and common beliefs. By 2019, the “Girls of Hong Kong” grew to 3000 members with over 200 active daily contributors on a social platform app.

At age 38, her life was turned upside down. Hit by an SUV. Recovering from 34 surgeries to save my leg from amputation. Diagnosed with an incurable disease dubbed the suicide disease. As result, she lost her business and I had zero self-confidence.
She had spiraled down into a depression because she had tried everything for my chronic pain and nothing worked. Nothing worked. Except for one thing… and it’s not what you think. It doesn’t get rid of my pain or my challenges, but it gets me through it. It’s resilience.

Deepa is an author, speaker, and co-founder of nFormation, a company for women of color by women of color. nFormation provides brave, safe, new space for professional women of color. Deepa is also a Women and Public Policy Program Leader in Practice at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Prior to this, Deepa spent more than twenty years at Deloitte and was the first Indian American woman and one of the youngest people to make partner in the company’s history.
